Graphic Designer/Writer
I graduated from Mizzou with an emphasis area in magazine design. During my time at Mizzou, I worked at the Columbia Missourian working on stories and designing layouts. I also worked at Vox Magazine designing the feature well and writing some for department sections. Since then, I interned with Lutheran Hour Ministers as a graphic design intern, and I've worked as an editorial intern at ALIVE Magazine. Currently, I work for St. Louis Community College in the Marketing and Communications department. My title is Email and Graphic Communications Specialist. Our STLCC team may be small, but we are mighty. Because of our small team, I get many opportunities to do a lot for the College.
Who I Am
In my free time, I like to be with friends and family doing various activities such as playing volleyball, attending comedy shows, shopping at the mall, and other exciting adventures. One of my favorite hobbies is scuba diving. I recently got my advanced rescue certification. I also enjoy sitting at home curling up and reading a good book, blog or magazine.
What I Do
I enjoy writing, designing, photography, videography, marketing, planning and so much more. I would love to eventually write my own book. I'm currently taking graduate classes, studying marketing at Webster University. I am also an assistant volleyball coach at Webster.
My sister-in-law and I started a small business doing our own photography. AK photography started because we both enjoyed taking pictures and wanted to capture my sister's engagement. They loved the pictures so much they encouraged us to keep doing it. We had lots of friends and family reach out to us to do their photos after seeing our work. This year we photographed our first wedding! It was a blast. Be sure to look at some of the photos we took!
About me
A few interesting facts about myself: I'm currently training to be a Pokemon master. I enjoy doing many different things such as photography, painting, drawing, writing, being creativity, designing, sports, and so much more. That’s probably my biggest strength, I can multitask, and I bring a lot to the table.
